Welcome to your new Home Zone
When you step into Danske Commodities’ new facilities, you’ll immediately be captivated by the view from their offices, which stretches out over Aarhus South Harbor – an experience not everyone gets every day.
Once you’ve had time to take in the view, you’ll encounter a complete combination of aesthetics and tactility: upholstered furniture, green plants, rustic concrete walls, acoustic panels, and elements in oak.
The building is designed with space for both classic office zones and unconventional work areas, where employees can move away from their desks – up to the café, past the small library, or meet in the various kitchens and collaboration areas.
Danske Commodities’ employees are divided into teams and spread over several floors. Each team has different needs for storage and information sharing. It has been important for Danske Commodities that each team can put its own stamp on their area, while the decor remains flexible and the offices appear stylish. Therefore, they have created “Home Zones” – a concept that establishes zones in the house and reflects the identity of the individual teams.

Overview of the various optional modules
Based on renderings of the Extend Shelving System, employees gained an overview of the modules from which the shelves could be built.
It was recommended that all Home Zones integrate plants to bring nature into everyday life.
Information screens could be selected by teams that needed to access common information on a daily basis.
In addition, cabinets were offered as locked storage with a private code.
Blackboards were suggested for sharing relevant information across the team, while shelves could be used for books, pictures and other materials that reflected the team’s identity.
